The Aetherion Corporation is a vast corporate-theocratic empire, where capital is law, trade is the highest virtue, and economic mastery is the ultimate form of conquest.
Rising from the corporations that pioneered space flight on the dwarven planet of Khaldorr Prime, it used its monopoly on space flight in order to dictate the expansion of civilization itself, not through war but by owning the very means of reaching the stars. In order to keep the planets under them from breaking contract, the Corporation decentralizes at least one necessary resource for survival from any settlement. The only ships allowed to deliver that resource to the settlement are officially sanctioned Aetherion Corporation ships.
